System Management Services

Experian FootFall’s involvement doesn’t end with the installation of your system.
Step One – Data Capture
No matter what system is used, it is essential that the raw data capture is accurate and consistent, therefore Experian FootFall uses a variety of leading edge technologies including cameras, thermal imaging and IR beams to count pedestrian traffic in both directions. In fact, we choose the most appropriate technology for each location within your store or centre depending on its individual requirements. Even historically ‘difficult’ locations such as bright light, shadows and busy locations are possible with our systems
Step 2 - The Audit Trail
- Data from each counting device is communicated over the Internet nightly to Experian FootFall and entered into the database.
- All files are checked for completeness
- Each counting device is automatically checked against 13 parameters
- Any data issues are immediately detected and rectified
- Any missing data is statistically reproduced using FootPrint Diagnostic Software (see below).
Online System Monitoring
The systems are monitored using FootPrint Diagnostic Software, a Experian FootFall developed programme, which audits the raw data and checks the working of the total system. FootPrint also creates a template graph for each counting device based on historical information. By comparing current graphs against this template, one can check the working order and accuracy of any one device and the system as a whole. Inconsistencies are spotted immediately and action is taken to ensure the ongoing accuracy of the data.
Step 3 – maintenance and support
Giving clients added reassurance; the engineering support team carry out scheduled maintenance and resolve any problems. All queries are logged with the Experian FootFall help desk and our sophisticated monitoring systems mean we can resolve many queries remotely, even before the client knows there is a problem. Where this is not possible however, queries are soon remedied by a visit from one of our regional Experian FootFall engineers.
