The week-on-week change of 2.1% is higher than the 1.9% week-on-week improvement seen for the corresponding week last year. This improvement may have something to do with the highly anticipated iPhone 5S/C launch on Friday which also occurred on the same Friday last year for the iPhone 5.
The year-on-year figures show a 2.2% reduction which again is slightly lower than year-on-year reduction of 2.4% from last year. However this year we also experienced particularly warm weather conditions towards the end of the week and into the weekend – compared to last year when the weather was more autumnal with torrential rain.
The weekend performance showed a reduction of 3.6% year-on-year, however it was up by 2.6% week-on-week
There was an improvement for only 3 of the 11 regions this week in the year-on-year performance. Noticeably the Westerly regions had the highest reduction in comparison to the eastern regions where improvements were experienced.
The Experian FootFall Index for Retail Parks show a -3.6% reduction week on week and also a -0.3% reduction compared with the same week last year. This is the first time that the Retail Parks Index has declined in the past 3 weeks.
