Retail Sales Volume Indicator

The Oriel Securities FootFall Retail Sales Volume Indicator (ORSVI) provides an accurate lead indicator of retail sales volume growth as measured by the ONS (Office of National Statistics) (adjusted to exclude non store sales).
The indicator has been developed by Experian FootFall Ltd and Oriel Securities and uses as its basis the changes in the number of shoppers month on month. The average sample basket is over 100 million shopper visits per month, which are automatically measured by Experian FootFall throughout the UK.

The index is published each month and incorporates commentary by Oriel Securities as regards to the likely impact for specific retailers.
