Experian FootFall commentary for the week commencing the 8th September 2014

WEEK201437The Experian FootFall National Retail Index is reporting a decrease of -6.6% Week-on-Week and a fall of -3.9% Year-on-Year. For the  weekend, figures show a fall of -4.7% on the year.

The Year-to-Date trend maintained decreased slightly, recording a -0.4% compared to the previous week. However, the YTD results continue to report better than last year, when footfall was -4.0% at the same point.

The Experian FootFall Regional Index reports that only 1 out of 11 regions are showing an improvement in year-on-year retail traffic with London reporting growth of +1.1%. Northern Ireland realised the greatest week-on-week increase of +14.3% (-6.1% on the year), whilst the South East suffered the greatest week-on-week decrease of -10.4%.

Within Retail Parks, the Experian Footfall Index reported a +1.3% lift on the week, however there was a decrease of -1.2% on the year. Furthermore the weekend showed a decrease of -2.6% Year-On-Year; however the overall YTD trend reports at 2.8%.
