Experian FootFall indices

Experian FootFall indices benchmark your company against a suite of UK national and regional footfall indices to pro actively manage your business and location performance.

We produce a suite of footfall indices on a weekly and monthly basis which act as a barometer of visitor activity in various sectors. This enables you to monitor and assess how events such as weather, holidays, economic issues, sports and other national and International events affect the UK retail landscape.

As a benchmark of visitor activity in the UK, the Experian FootFall Index is used to address issues such as:

  • determining what footfall patterns are typical during each month of the year
  • discovering which peaks or troughs may be affecting your business performance and where changes should be made (i.e. investment in marketing activity to boost footfall in a store, or efficient resource allocation for peak periods)
  • establishing how footfall patterns differ regionally
  • analysing if there is any correlation between your monthly sales figures and the UK National monthly footfall trends
  • ascertaining if there is any variation in footfall patterns between Department Stores and Retail Parks which could affect you.

There are a number of derivations of footfall indices.
