Retail Birmingham was formed to promote Birmingham city centre as a destination and create a thriving daytime and evening economy. To this end, it works to ensure Birmingham city centre is an attractive, safe and well-managed trading environment so that shoppers enjoy their experience and make repeat visits. Retail Birmingham works in close partnership with forward thinking Birmingham City Council, which in 2009 installed Experian FootFall’s thermal imaging counting systems to monitor shopper flows in and around its city centre.
